Nolan shot on 35mm and 70mm IMAX and the format is most of the argument for seeing it in a cinema. Hoyte van Hoytema used practical sets for the ship interiors. The organ in the score is deliberately too loud.

Attari Sandwich ShopA counter at the back of Attari Plaza with a shaded courtyard of outdoor tables behind it. The menu runs to tongue sandwiches, kotlet and a bowl of ash reshteh that arrives whether or not you ordered soup. It has been on this block of Westwood Boulevard since the early 1990s.

Saffron & Rose Persian Ice CreamA small shop on Westwood Boulevard that has been making Persian-style bastani since the 1980s. The saffron and pistachio is the one to get, pressed between two wafers if you ask for it that way. Cucumber and date sit on the same board, which tells you the register.
