Hambone's BBQ SmokehouseA barbecue counter and bar on Belmont Street, in the building next to the comedy club, doing smoked meats with southern sides in a plain setting that has never pretended otherwise. There is a patio outside and a full bar in. Nothing here needs calling ahead.

KalaverasA Mexican bar and kitchen on Bellflower Boulevard, loud and painted in Day of the Dead colors, serving cocktails alongside a full menu. Banda plays live every Sunday at eight in the evening. It opens at nine in the morning and runs to midnight, which is a longer day than anything else on the boulevard.
