Friday, October 16, 2026 · 8:00 PM · 2220 Arts + Archives, Central L.A.
The Read
Anderson plays instrumental guitar that comes out of Fahey and blues phrasing but refuses the reverence that usually attaches. The pieces are short and built around repetition that shifts under you.

Before
Cassell's HamburgersAl Cassell opened a hamburger counter in Koreatown in 1948, grinding his own beef daily and broiling the patties rather than griddling them. The business closed and was brought back in 2015 in the ground floor of the Hotel Normandie, still grinding in house and still running the original broiler method. It opens at 9am, which makes it the rare Koreatown kitchen that serves breakfast.

After
The Short StopA bar at 1455 Sunset that opened in 1940 and spent decades as an LAPD hangout before a group of entertainers bought it in 2001. The storefront had been a furrier and taxidermy shop in the late 1920s. Cheap drinks, pool tables and a DJ most nights.
