Shape The Night
Before
Little Dom'sWarner Ebbink and chef Brandon Boudet opened this in January 2008 in the old La Belle Epoque space on Hillhurst. Ebbink put in a 1930s wooden bar he bought off a saloon in Easton, Pennsylvania, and leaded-glass windows salvaged from a New York building that was coming down. Boudet is from New Orleans and it shows on the menu. Handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas, brunch on the weekend.

After
The DresdenA lounge on Vermont that has kept its 1950s fittings and books live players five nights a week. Marty and Elayne held the residency here for nearly forty years until Marty Roberts died in January 2022, and the music kept going. The bar is long and you can sit at it without ordering dinner.
