Echo Park LakeA city lake with a lotus bed that blooms in summer, a fountain in the middle and a path all the way around. Wheel Fun Rentals runs swan-shaped pedal boats from the boathouse on the east side, one hour at a time. Walking the loop costs nothing.

Churreria El MoroThe parent churreria has been in Mexico City since 1935. This opened January 29, 2026 in the old Patra Burgers stand on the Sunset and Laveta corner, painted white and trimmed in blue neon, and it is the first Los Angeles branch and the second in the country after Costa Mesa. Churros and thick chocolate are the whole point.
