San Pedro, in Harbor
Alva's Showroom
Listening venue · 1417 W 8th St
Alva's arranges about 99 seats like a small amphitheater, bringing San Pedro audiences close to jazz players, instrumental groups and visiting singers.
The Eighth Street venue lets guests bring food and nonalcoholic drinks, while providing coffee, tea and water. Most seats are general admission, with some tables available to reserve separately.
The program ranges from New Orleans jazz gatherings to Afro-Cuban ensembles and tributes to songwriters. Afternoon performances appear alongside later shows, making the calendar useful beyond a conventional concert outing.
