A Noise Within
Theater · 3352 E Foothill Blvd
A Noise Within surrounds its thrust stage with audiences on three sides, putting classical plays within a few rows of the action.
The company began with Hamlet in 1991, when Geoff Elliott, Julia Rodriguez-Elliott and Art Manke built a makeshift stage in a Glendale Masonic temple. Borrowed church pews supplied the seating.
Now based in Pasadena, the ensemble works in rotating repertory. Actors take different roles across productions, and the calendar can offer several plays within the same stretch of weeks.
