Landmark's first theater acquisition, on Santa Monica Boulevard just west of the 405, where The Rocky Horror Picture Show holds the Saturday midnight slot.
The programming mixes independent film, documentaries and restored classics, with filmmakers and actors turning up for Q&As often enough that it reads as a regular feature of the calendar rather than a special occasion.
There is a separate midnight booking every Friday, which gives the venue two late slots a week answering to nothing on the main schedule. The bimonthly Nuart Film Calendar is how all of it gets published.
West LA at this end of Santa Monica Boulevard is auto shops and low storefronts, and the theater has taken world premiere engagements from that unremarkable frontage for three decades.
