8th Ave South
The Basement
Venue · 1604 8th Ave S
The smaller, original Basement: a low-ceiling cellar under what used to be Grimey's on 8th Avenue, where songwriter, roots, and rock bills feel thirty feet from the stage.
Mike Grimes built it out from the basement of his record store when he moved to 8th Ave in 2004. It's intimate by design: close crowd, no distance between the band and the bar. Releases, underplays, and locals who benefit from that kind of proximity.
The Basement East on Woodland Street is the bigger sibling. Down here, a show feels personal.
