The Music Valley bar where local and working Opry-circuit musicians hang, a few minutes from the Opry House.

Out near the Opry and the Music Valley hotels, Music City Bar reads from the outside like another tourist stop, but the crowd tells a different story: it's a genuine local hang, including players who turn up after Opry-circuit gigs. The country sets serve the people in front of them rather than perform at them.

Casual and direct: dinner, cheap drinks, a bar that runs on regulars more than out-of-towners. The Opryland location is just where it happens to sit, not what it is. A good north-of-downtown stop when you want the local version of the corridor.
