Dyckman Farmhouse Museum
Culture

William Dyckman built this around 1784 on a family farm of more than 250 acres, after the Revolutionary War destroyed what his grandfather had put there in the 1660s. It is the only Dutch colonial farmhouse left in Manhattan, raised above Broadway behind a small garden. General admission is three dollars and the garden is always free.

Inwood Hill Park
Outside

The last natural forest and the last salt marsh left in Manhattan are both here, along with glacial potholes in the rock and some of the largest tulip trees in the city. Trails climb the ridge from Seaman Avenue and the marsh is tidal and brackish, with crabs and waterfowl in it. The nature center on the water reopened in 2024 after twelve years shut following Hurricane Sandy.

Park open daily, 6am to 1am. Nature center weekends only, 10am to noon and 1pm to 3pm

Inwood
Tubby Hook Tavern

Named for Tubby Hook, which is what the Inwood waterfront at Dyckman Street was called before anyone called it Dyckman Street. Burgers, a full bar and a regular crowd that the staff knows by name. Trivia on Tuesday and karaoke on Thursday.
