A bar on the block where the Lower East Side runs into Chinatown, open until four in the morning seven days a week. Laure Travers runs it and the music leans away from whatever is on down the street. There is pâté and a few snacks if you want something with the drink.

Down a staircase off Chrystie Street into a low, dark bar that has been going since 2006, with taxidermy on the walls above cheap drinks. DJs and live sets start around ten on weekend nights. It is sixty seconds from the Bowery Ballroom door.
Mon to Sat, 6pm to 4am. Sun, 8pm to 4am. Happy hour to 8:30pm on weekdays
A French tabac styled bar on the corner of Canal and Orchard, with most of the crowd standing on the sidewalk. Natural wine by the glass and a short menu built around pâté and tinned fish. It opened in the 2020s and has not tried to become anything larger since.
