Tribeca / Hudson Square
Laughing Man Coffee
Coffee

A small coffee counter on Duane Street with a handful of stools, open at six in the morning every day of the week. Hugh Jackman co-founded it and the stated arrangement sends profits to a foundation that buys from smallholder growers. The Tribeca shop is operated day to day under the Slate Cafe name.

Daily, 6am to 6pm

Tribeca / Hudson Square
Nancy Whiskey Pub
Drinks

A two-floor pub at Lispenard and West Broadway with pressed tin ceilings, a shuffleboard table upstairs and a jukebox the regulars keep feeding. It opens in the morning and does not shut until four. PUNCH calls it a holdout from the days when neighborhood pubs were everywhere down here.

Monday to Friday, 9am to 4am. Saturday, 10am to 4am. Sunday, noon to 4am

Tribeca / Hudson Square
Pier 26, Hudson River Park
Outside

A pier built out over the Hudson at the end of North Moore Street, with a boardwalk that steps down toward the water and a tidal marsh at the far end. It opened in 2020 and the planting is native species meant to show what the shoreline held before the city did. The park it belongs to stays open until 1am.

Hudson River Park is open daily 6am to 1am unless otherwise posted. Individual facilities on the pier may close earlier

Tribeca / Hudson Square
Square Diner
Food

A dining car parked on the triangle where Leonard Street meets West Broadway, which by its own account has served Tribeca for over a hundred years. Counter stools along one side and booths along the other. Eggs are on all day and the check comes to diner money.

Monday and Tuesday, 8am to 4pm. Wednesday to Friday, 8am to 9pm. Saturday, 8am to 7pm. Sunday, 8am to 6pm

Tribeca / Hudson Square
The Ear Inn
Drinks

A bar in a federal-era house at 326 Spring Street that has been serving since 1817, which puts it among the oldest continuously licensed bars in the city. The neon sign reads EAR because painting out part of the B on the old BAR sign avoided a Landmarks review. It does handmade burgers, and live music fills the place three nights a week.

Daily, noon to 4am

Tribeca / Hudson Square
The Mysterious Bookshop
Shops

Otto Penzler opened this in 1979 and it deals only in mystery and crime writing, which makes it the oldest shop of its kind in the country. Shelves run floor to ceiling on Warren Street, with signed first editions and a back wall given over entirely to Sherlock Holmes. Staff will find you something if you tell them what you last read.

Monday to Saturday, 11am to 7pm. Closed Sunday

Tribeca / Hudson Square
The Roxy Cinema
Culture

A 118-seat cinema in the cellar at 2 Sixth Avenue, which is the same address as The Django and reached by the same stairs. It runs 35mm prints of things nobody else is showing, with a September 2026 week that included Out of the Blue, Showgirls and A Scanner Darkly. Tickets run twelve to nineteen dollars.

No fixed opening hours. The box office runs to the screening schedule, which is posted week by week and generally starts mid-afternoon and runs into the evening

Tribeca / Hudson Square
Walker's
Drinks

A bar with a stamped tin ceiling and an oak counter from the late 1800s, on the corner of North Moore and Varick. There has been a bar in the building since the 1880s and the current operators named it Walker's in 1987. The kitchen does a burger until 10pm and the bar keeps going until 3am.

Bar Monday to Friday, noon to 3am. Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 3am. Kitchen daily 4pm to 10pm, lunch weekdays noon to 4pm, brunch weekends 11am to 4pm
