Shape The Night
Before
The New Park TavernAn East Rutherford tavern founded in 1934 and still run by the Italiano family, built around a round bar you can sit the whole way around. The food is bar pizza on a thin crust, wings and Italian-American plates, and the beer list is longer than the place looks from the street. It opens at eleven in the morning and serves until close every day.

After
Meadowlands DinerA diner on the Route 17 frontage in Carlstadt running the standard Jersey card of breakfast all day, burgers and platters. It used to stay open around the clock and no longer does, so the evening close is the thing to check before you count on it. Seven in the morning is the open every day of the week.
