Hasbrouck Heights, in New Jersey
Bananas Comedy Club
Comedy Club · 801 Rutherford Ave
A stand-up club attached to a hotel in Rutherford, New Jersey, drawing its headliners from the same touring circuit that fills the Manhattan clubs.
The venue operates out of the Renaissance Hotel, which sets the shape of the place: a wide seated floor, a bar at the back, table service through the show. The whole facility is non-smoking.
Rutherford is in Bergen County, a short drive from the Lincoln Tunnel, and the audience arrives accordingly. Tickets are sold per show with a minimum, the standard economics of a club this size.
