Rudy's Bakery & CafeThe oldest bakery in Queens, on Seneca since 1934, from when this part of Ridgewood spoke German and worked in the breweries. Traditional German cookies and breads are still on the counter alongside newer things, and there is a coffee bar inside now. It opens at 6am.

Gottscheer HallBuilt in 1924 by immigrants from Gottschee, a German-speaking pocket of what is now Slovenia, and still run as a bar with a hall behind it. Imported and domestic beer at the bar. There are spirits too, with a short menu of German pub food. The front bar is the part you want.
