S&S CheesecakeA family bakery that has made one thing in the same West 238th Street storefront for more than fifty years. You walk into what is effectively the factory, buy a cheesecake over the counter and leave. There is no seating and no menu, and the operation is mostly wholesale with a retail window attached.

Bronx AlehouseA beer bar on West 238th with a long rotating tap list and a kitchen doing burgers and pub food from scratch. It opens at eleven every morning and runs to two on Friday and Saturday. Dogs are allowed and there is a trivia night.
