Before

Levain Bakery, Harlem

short ride recommended · 7 min - Harlem

The Frederick Douglass Boulevard branch of the cookie bakery Connie McDonald and Pam Weekes started on the Upper West Side in 1995. The cookies come out of the oven the size of a fist and are sold warm at the counter. There is a line most of the day and it clears at the pace of the register.

7:00 PM · Cuervo

After

Yankee Tavern

Long walk · 0.8 mi · 15 min walk; 2 min ride - South Bronx - Melrose

A bar on East 161st that opened in 1927, the same year as the original Stadium across the street, and has been feeding and watering the same crowd since. It is a long wood bar with televisions and photographs everywhere. The menu starts with wings and burgers. Sandwiches fill out the rest. On game days it is packed solid and there is a line on the sidewalk. On any other day you walk in and sit down.
