B&H DairyA kosher dairy counter that opened on Second Avenue in 1938, when this block was the Yiddish theater district. Soup comes with challah baked on the premises. There are about a dozen stools along the counter and no table service.

McSorley's Old Ale HouseOpen at 15 East 7th Street since 1854, and it still sells one thing, its own ale, light or dark, two mugs at a time. Sawdust on the floor and cash in the till. No reservations, and there is no way around the door.
