Before
Purity DinerA long narrow diner on Seventh Avenue with a counter down one side and booths down the other, doing eggs all day and a dinner menu nobody orders from at breakfast. The prices sit below everything else on the avenue. It opens at eight every morning and runs to ten on weekdays, which almost nothing else in Park Slope does.

After
Lowlands BarA sunny bar at the south end of Third Avenue with a planted backyard and better food than it needs to have. There is live folk on Mondays, karaoke on Wednesdays and a night where people bring records and play them. The spicy mac and cheese sandwich is the thing people order.
