Meadowlands MuseumA volunteer-run regional history museum in the Kingsland House, a few streets off Route 17 in Rutherford. It keeps permanent displays on the Meadowlands alongside rotating and traveling exhibits, and admission is free with a donation box by the door. It is small, and it opens on most Saturdays only, from ten until four.

Meadowlands DinerA diner on the Route 17 frontage in Carlstadt running the standard Jersey card of breakfast all day, burgers and platters. It used to stay open around the clock and no longer does, so the evening close is the thing to check before you count on it. Seven in the morning is the open every day of the week.
