Before
Light Horse TavernA corner building from the 1850s at Washington and Morris, restored in 2002 with the oak floors, pressed-tin ceiling and tall windows left in place. It was a speakeasy during Prohibition. The name comes from Henry Lee III, who led the Battle of Paulus Hook a few streets from here in 1779. There is a short tavern menu between lunch and dinner if you only want a plate and a drink.

Pet ShopOpened in 2016 by people who already lived here, with a pub menu that happens to be entirely vegetarian and a yard out the back. Downstairs there is a smaller bar called PS that puts on comedy and art shows and music on its own nights. The front is a plain bar with a plain beer and cocktail list.
