Inwood Hill ParkThe last natural forest and the last salt marsh left in Manhattan are both here, along with glacial potholes in the rock and some of the largest tulip trees in the city. Trails climb the ridge from Seaman Avenue and the marsh is tidal and brackish, with crabs and waterfowl in it. The nature center on the water reopened in 2024 after twelve years shut following Hurricane Sandy.

Le ChéileAn Irish pub on 181st Street with twelve taps, a proper spirits shelf and a kitchen that runs all day. Live music turns up a couple of times a month without anyone making an event of it. The name is Irish for together, which is roughly how the place operates.
