Williamsburg, in Brooklyn
Williamsburg Cinemas
Arthouse Cinema · 217 Grand St
A seven-screen independent theater at Grand and Driggs, opened at the end of 2012 and run by the family that also owns Cobble Hill Cinemas.
Noah Elgart owns it, and his father Harvey owns the Cobble Hill theater. That makes it one of the few multiplexes in Brooklyn not attached to a national chain.
The building covers about 19,000 square feet with stadium seating throughout, a different proposition from the older single-screen houses nearby. Programming mixes wide releases with independent and foreign titles.
