Shape The Night
Before
Café LulucA dark narrow French café on lower Smith Street, open since the late 1990s, with a zinc-look bar and small marble tables. A back garden is behind them. The pancakes are what it is known for and they come out thick with a crisp edge, but it also does steak frites and a croque monsieur all day. It is cash only, which catches people out, and there is an ATM up the street.

After
Bar Great HarryTwenty rotating taps on lower Smith Street, open since 2007, with pinball in the back corner and a chalkboard that changes weekly. There is no kitchen, the dog next to you belongs to someone at the bar, and the staff will pour you a taste before you commit. It closes at 4am every night of the week.
