Shape The Night

Before

Cinemart Cinemas

short ride recommended · 4 min - Forest Hills

A five-screen cinema on Metropolitan Avenue that opened on March 10, 1927 as the Metropolis Theatre and calls itself the oldest continuously operated independent movie theater in Queens. The screens are small, between thirty-six and seventy-one seats, with digital projection and recliners put in during the last refit. The program mixes the week's releases with independent and specialty bookings. You buy a ticket at the window.

After

Martha's Country Bakery

short ride recommended · 5 min - Forest Hills

A bakery on Austin Street with a long glass case that starts with cakes by the slice and cannoli. Cheesecake fills the other end. The coffee counter is beside it. It opens at six in the morning and runs to midnight, later on the weekend, which makes it the most useful set of hours in Forest Hills. There are tables inside and a few on the sidewalk.
