Shape The Night

Before

Station Square

short ride recommended · 4 min - Forest Hills

The brick and half-timber plaza at the entrance to Forest Hills Gardens, laid out by Grosvenor Atterbury and Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. between 1912 and 1916, with the railroad station arcade of 1913 on one side. You walk under the arches to get to the Stadium and the paving carries Union Jack patterns in the brickwork. The buildings are still in use as apartments and shops. It is a public plaza with nothing to pay.

5:00 PM · Wildwood

After

Eddie's Sweet Shop

short ride recommended · 4 min - Forest Hills

A soda fountain on Metropolitan Avenue in the same fittings it has had since the 1920s, with a marble counter, wooden stools and a tin ceiling. The ice cream is made on site and the whipped cream is whipped to order. It takes cash. It does not open until three in the afternoon, and it is closed Monday and Tuesday, so the schedule needs checking against a showtime.
