Clinton Hill, in Brooklyn
JACK
Off-Off-Broadway / Experimental · 20 Putnam Ave
JACK brings experimental theater and politically engaged performance to Clinton Hill, often crossing between music, movement and spoken text.
The Putnam Avenue venue presents visiting companies alongside recurring artist residencies. Its programming has included Stew's music-driven performances and Oye Group's Black history festival.
Small-scale productions leave space for different forms: a reworking of Sophocles can sit beside documentary video and personal testimony. The calendar also includes independently produced rental shows.
