Best Fish Taco in EnsenadaThe menu is three things: fish tacos, shrimp tacos, potato tacos. Corn tortillas are made on site and whoever takes your order fries the seafood behind the counter while you wait. You get the taco plain and then dress it yourself at a bar of cabbage, lime-soaked radish relish, chipotle crema and house salsas. A fish taco is $3.50, shrimp $4.25, potato $3.25.

Astro Family RestaurantArmet and Davis built this in 1959, the firm that drew the Norms, Denny's and Bob's Big Boy prototypes, and it shows in the cantilevered swooping roof, the zig-zag railings and the freestanding sign. It opened as Conrad's, Peter Metsos took it over in 1974 and renamed it Astro, and the City Council made it a Historic-Cultural Monument by unanimous vote in October 2024.
