FEAR FEST! The Invisible Man (1933)
Monday, October 12, 2026 · 3:00 PM · The Franklin Theatre, Franklin
The Read
James Whale figured out that invisibility could be frightening and funny in the same scene. Claude Rains has only his voice for most of the picture, so he makes every syllable do more work. The effects remain startling because the movie never stops to admire them. It simply lets an empty shirt walk through the frame and keeps going.
