White Christmas (1954)

The Read

White Christmas understands that the production numbers are the point. Crosby supplies the ease. Kaye moves like somebody removed a few bones. Rosemary Clooney gives the movie its best voice. VistaVision gives all of it more visual scale than a holiday movie strictly needs. The Franklin Theatre is the right kind of old movie house for a film this committed to putting on a show.
