Food

Catherine and Francois Louy took a Clinton Hill pharmacy that had traded since 1894 and turned it into a Tuscan restaurant in January 2001, keeping the original wood fittings and the apothecary drawers. The kitchen makes its own pasta. This is a sit-down dinner rather than something you grab.

Daily, noon to 3pm and 5pm to 10pm

Peck's
Coffee

Theo Peck's counter on Myrtle Avenue, open from 7am, pouring La Colombe and selling prepared food by the pound. Rotisserie chicken and brisket by the pound, with matzo ball soup made in house. He has been on this block about ten years and most of the trade is people who live within a few streets.
