A small triangle of park across from the Stonewall Inn that became the first unit of the National Park System dedicated to LGBTQ history. George Segal's white sculpture of two couples sits inside the railings. A visitor center opened at 51 Christopher Street, the first of its kind in the park system, and costs nothing to enter.
Christopher Park: 7am to 8pm from May 1 to October 30, and 7am to 5pm from November 1 to April 30. Visitor center: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm. Both are free
The Christopher Street pier, rebuilt as a lawn and a boardwalk that runs 850 feet into the Hudson. People sunbathe on the grass in the afternoon and the west-facing end is where the sunset is. It is the closest open water to the West Village stages.
Hudson River Park operates a 1am curfew across the park. The lawn and the pier itself are open daylight hours
