An 1862 civic building now gives Flushing a stage for jazz and traditions drawn from across Queens and beyond.
The Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts maintains and programs the city-owned landmark. Its restored complex includes a theater, gallery and garden, allowing performances and exhibitions to share an address.
Concerts sit alongside hands-on workshops and family programs. The Global Mashup series places different musical traditions together, making cultural exchange something the audience can hear rather than just read about.
