Dynasty Typewriter at the Hayworth
Theater · 2511 Wilshire Blvd
An independent comedy theater in the Hayworth Theatre on Wilshire, where the bills are published in full and the house identity runs to its own cartoon characters and merch.
The venue takes the second half of its name from the building, the Hayworth, on a stretch of Wilshire closer to Westlake than to the comedy blocks in Hollywood. The first half refers to nothing in particular, and there are no typewriters.
Full lineups go up in advance, which is not the norm for independent comedy at this size. The merch table sells a revived in-house cartoon called the TASTBUDZ, and the website describes the place as a transformative portal rather than a venue, which tells you the register.
