Lower Manhattan
Fresh Salt
Drinks

A corner bar on Beekman Street that serves the people who live in the Seaport rather than the people photographing it. Beer and cocktails with a short food menu, and a happy hour that runs four hours every day. The 2am close on Thursday and Friday is the latest thing standing on these blocks.

Monday, 4pm to midnight. Tuesday and Wednesday, 4pm to 1am. Thursday and Friday, 4pm to 2am. Saturday, 1pm to 2am. Sunday, 1pm to midnight

Lower Manhattan
Jeremy's Ale House
Drinks

Beer comes in styrofoam cups the size of a pitcher and the ceiling is covered in neckties and bras left by customers. It started under the Brooklyn Bridge ramp and moved a block to 228 Front Street, keeping the fryer and the prices. Fried clams and a cup of Bud is most of the menu.

Monday to Friday, 8am to midnight. Saturday, 10am to midnight. Sunday, noon to midnight

Lower Manhattan
O'Hara's Restaurant and Pub
Drinks

A pub on Cedar Street a block south of the World Trade Center, covered wall to ceiling in shoulder patches left by the fire and police departments that sent people here after September 11. It was buried in dust that day and reopened the following year. Pints and bar food, and the patches are the whole decor.

Monday to Friday, 11am to 1am. Saturday, 11am to midnight. Sunday, noon to 1am

Lower Manhattan
The Paris Cafe
Drinks

A bar on the ground floor of the Meyer's Hotel building at Peck Slip, with a long wooden counter that has been serving this corner of the waterfront since the 1870s. Hurricane Sandy flooded the block and closed it, and it came back. Happy hour runs 4pm to 7pm Wednesday through Saturday.

Wednesday and Thursday, 4pm to 11pm, kitchen closing 10pm. Friday and Saturday, 4pm to midnight, kitchen closing 11pm. Lunch Friday noon to 3pm, Saturday 11am to 4pm, Sunday 11am to 5pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday

Lower Manhattan
Ulysses
Drinks

The pub that anchors Stone Street, the cobbled block where the Financial District does its drinking outdoors. Tables run down the middle of the street in warm weather and the bar keeps going until 4am every day of the year. It has been there since 2003 and the crowd turns over from office workers to whoever is still out.

Monday, 4pm to 4am. Tuesday to Sunday, 11am to 4am
