Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art

Two fieldstone buildings on a Lighthouse Hill slope, built in the 1940s to look like a Himalayan monastery, holding one of the larger collections of Tibetan art in the western hemisphere. There is a terraced garden with a lotus pond behind them and a view down to Raritan Bay. Admission is ten dollars and it is open Wednesday to Sunday afternoons only.

Moravian Cemetery

A hundred and thirteen acres off Richmond Road, opened in 1740 and still the oldest working cemetery on the island, with two freshwater lakes, three bridges and fifty-one miles of path. Richard Morris Hunt built the Vanderbilt mausoleum into the hillside here in 1886 and Frederick Law Olmsted laid out the ground in front of it. The gates are open to anyone during the day.
